The base is a bold cylindrical form inspired by a cannon barrel, finished in a deep matte black with the solidity you would expect from metal rather than resin. It is a utilitarian shape, unapologetically so, and the appeal is in that confidence rather than in any decorative detail. At 1.9kg it feels as substantial as it looks.
