1 How It Works
Paying with Shop Pay Installments at Crawford & Bond is simple. Follow these four steps at checkout:
Your first payment is due at checkout. The remaining payments are automatically charged to the card saved on your Shop Pay account based on the payment plan you chose. You’ll receive an email reminder before each payment.
2 Eligibility
Shop Pay Installments is available to customers who meet the following criteria:
- UK residents only, aged 18 and over
- You must have a United Kingdom mobile phone number
- You must use a debit card with a United Kingdom billing address
- Orders must be between £50.00 and £30,000.00 (including discounts, shipping, and taxes)
When you choose Shop Pay Installments at checkout, you are applying for a loan through Affirm. If approved, your purchase will be split into monthly payments. You’ll receive a real-time decision on your eligibility and approval is subject to a credit check.
3 Payment Plans
Shop Pay Installments allows you to split your purchase into monthly payments. The types of plans available and your eligibility are determined by Affirm and may vary based on your purchase amount and creditworthiness. All available options will be presented during checkout.
0% APR Representative. A deposit may be required at checkout. Your payment options and schedule depend on your purchase amount. You cannot change the type of payment plan after you have completed checkout.
4 Accepted Payment Methods
Debit cards are accepted as a payment method for Shop Pay Installments orders. In some cases, credit cards may also be available as a payment method for certain orders. All payments are processed securely through Affirm.
5 Returns and Refunds on Instalment Orders
If you wish to request a refund on an order made using Shop Pay Installments, please contact us. We will advise whether a return is possible and confirm the refund amount.
How Refunds Work
After your refund is processed, the refund amount will be applied to your original payment method within 3–10 business days and your balance will be updated accordingly:
- Refund is less than your remaining balance — your next payment may not be lowered, but you can expect fewer payments, a smaller final payment, or both
- Refund is more than your remaining balance — the difference is returned to your original payment method within 3–10 business days
- Interest payments — if your order was made with interest, please note that interest already paid is not refundable, as it represents the cost of borrowing
When you make payments, funds are first applied to accrued unpaid interest and then to the principal balance. For full details on our returns policy, including the requirement for a Return Authorisation Number (RAN), please refer to our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
6 Frequently Asked Questions
When checking out with Shop Pay, you have the option to pay now or later. Paying in instalments on Shop Pay allows you to split your purchase amount into monthly instalment payments with no hidden or late fees.
No, there are no late fees if you miss a scheduled payment. However, partial payments or late payments might impact your credit score, or your eligibility to use Shop Pay Installments in the future.
No. Gift cards cannot be purchased using Shop Pay Installments. If you wish to purchase gift cards along with Shop Pay Installments eligible products, you will need to place two separate orders.
Creating a Shop Pay Installments account does not impact your credit score. However, missed or partial payments may influence your credit rating and your eligibility to use Shop Pay Installments in the future.
If your application is not approved, you will receive an email from Affirm explaining why, along with any applicable next steps. You can still complete your purchase using another payment method at checkout.
