Published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015  |  Financial Year Ending March 2026
This statement has been published in accordance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. It outlines Crawford & Bond’s commitments, values, and procedures to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking throughout our business operations and supply chain.

1 Introduction

1.1 Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

1.2 Crawford & Bond has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to ensuring transparency throughout our organisation and within our supply chain, and to taking a proactive approach to preventing modern slavery in all its forms.

1.3 This statement applies to all persons working for Crawford & Bond or on our behalf, in any capacity, including employees, agents, contractors, consultants, and third-party suppliers.

5 Supply Chain and Due Diligence

Our Supply Chain

5.1 Crawford & Bond works to ensure that all goods are sourced and manufactured in circumstances and environments that do not tolerate or involve the exploitation or abuse of any persons.

5.2 All suppliers are required to sign a contract outlining our policies and accept our business code of conduct before trade can commence. Crawford & Bond maintains a strong and open dialogue with all suppliers and insists that any suspicion of modern slavery or human trafficking must be communicated and escalated immediately.

5.3 Our supply chain primarily comprises authorised brand distributors and manufacturers based in the United Kingdom, Europe, and internationally. We recognise that certain geographic regions and product categories may carry a higher risk of modern slavery and we take this into account in our risk assessments.

Due Diligence Processes

5.4 We carry out due diligence on all new suppliers and regularly review existing suppliers to assess and monitor potential risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. Our due diligence processes include:

  • Evaluating potential new suppliers before entering into any business relationship
  • Requiring all suppliers to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and to provide their own modern slavery statement where applicable
  • Conducting periodic audits and assessments of supplier practices, either directly or through third-party experts
  • Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with suppliers regarding ethical sourcing and labour practices

5.5 Where we are importing products directly, Crawford & Bond carries out regular audits and visits by third-party experts as part of our ongoing due diligence to monitor our supply base. All suppliers are assessed to ensure compliance with local laws and international human rights standards. Areas which are monitored include:

  • Wages and working hours
  • Working conditions and accommodation
  • Health and safety standards
  • Prevention of discrimination in all forms
  • Absence of child labour, human trafficking, or modern slavery

Risk Assessment

5.6 Identifying emerging areas of potential and high risk is an important focus within our business. Working closely with our sourcing and procurement operations helps to raise awareness of these areas and improve our communication with our supply base. Crawford & Bond will continue to develop our policies and approach to modern slavery risk management.

  • All employees are paid no less than the National Minimum Wage (or National Living Wage where applicable)
  • Full compliance with all employee statutory rights, including working time regulations, holiday entitlement, and safe working conditions
  • Clear and fair employment contracts are provided to all members of staff
  • No employee is required to lodge identity documents or deposits as a condition of employment
