5 Your Right to Cancel — Distance Selling Regulations
This section applies to all purchases made at a distance (including online and telephone orders) and is provided in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Cooling-Off Period
5.1 Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving the Goods, without giving any reason. This is commonly referred to as the “cooling-off period”.
5.2 The cancellation period expires 14 calendar days after the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you (other than the carrier), physically receives the Goods.
5.3 For orders consisting of multiple items delivered separately, the cancellation period expires 14 calendar days after the day on which you receive the last item.
How to Cancel
5.4 To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear, unambiguous statement. This can be done by:
- Emailing us at: info@crawfordandbond.co.uk
- Writing to us at our registered business address
- Using the model cancellation form (available on request)
5.5 To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning the exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of Cancellation
5.6 If you cancel an order within the cooling-off period, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery (if applicable). However, if you chose a delivery method more expensive than the standard delivery option, we will only reimburse the cost equivalent to standard delivery.
5.7 We will process your refund without undue delay, and in any event no later than 14 calendar days from the day on which we receive the returned Goods, or the day on which you provide evidence of having returned the Goods, whichever is earliest.
5.8 Refunds will be issued using the same payment method as the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
Return of Goods After Cancellation
5.9 You must return the Goods to us without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 calendar days from the day on which you inform us of your cancellation.
5.10 The cost of returning Goods to us is the responsibility of the Buyer, unless the Goods are faulty or not as described.
5.11 Goods must be returned in their original condition, unused, and in the original packaging wherever possible. You are liable for any diminished value of the Goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the Goods.
Exceptions to the Right to Cancel
5.12 The right to cancel does not apply to:
- Goods that have been personalised, custom-made, or made to your specification
- Sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, where such goods have been unsealed after delivery
- Goods which, by reason of their nature, are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly
- Sealed audio, video recordings, or sealed computer software which have been unsealed after delivery
6 Damaged, Faulty, or Incorrect Goods
We take the utmost care in packaging and dispatching your order. However, in the unlikely event that Goods arrive damaged, faulty, or incorrect, the following terms apply:
Reporting Damage or Faults
6.1 All damage, faults, or discrepancies must be reported to us by email at info@crawfordandbond.co.uk within 48 hours of receiving the Goods. Reports received after this 48-hour window may not be accepted.
6.2 When reporting damage or a fault, you must provide:
- Your full name and order number
- A clear description of the damage, fault, or discrepancy
- Photographic evidence of the damage or fault (including packaging where relevant)
- The date the Goods were received
Return Authorisation Number (RAN)
6.3 No returns of any kind will be accepted without a valid Return Authorisation Number (RAN). Upon review of your report, if we determine that a return is appropriate, we will issue a RAN and provide you with return instructions.
6.4 Returns sent without a valid RAN will be refused and returned to the sender at the sender’s cost.
6.5 The RAN must be clearly marked on the outside of the return package. Please do not write directly on the product packaging.
Return Costs
6.6 All return postage and shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the Buyer.
6.7 Where Goods are confirmed to be faulty, damaged in transit, or incorrectly supplied through our error, we will, at our discretion, either reimburse your reasonable return postage costs, arrange a collection, or provide a prepaid returns label.
6.8 We strongly recommend that all returns are sent via a tracked and insured delivery service. Crawford & Bond accepts no liability for items lost or damaged in return transit where the Buyer has failed to use a trackable service.
Remedies
6.9 Where Goods are confirmed as faulty, damaged, or incorrect, we will offer one of the following remedies at our discretion:
- A full replacement of the item (subject to stock availability)
- A full or partial refund to the original payment method
- A store credit of equivalent value
6.10 Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by these Terms and Conditions. Under the Act, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If goods do not meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
7 Returns and Refunds — General Policy
7.1 All returns, whether under the cooling-off period or otherwise, require a Return Authorisation Number (RAN) to be obtained before the Goods are returned. Please contact us by email at info@crawfordandbond.co.uk to request a RAN.
7.2 Goods returned without a valid RAN will not be processed and will be returned to the Buyer at the Buyer’s expense.
7.3 All return postage and shipping costs are the responsibility of the Buyer unless otherwise agreed in writing by Crawford & Bond.
7.4 Goods must be returned in their original, unused condition, in original packaging, with all tags, labels, certificates of authenticity, and accessories intact.
7.5 Refunds will be processed within 14 calendar days of our receipt and inspection of the returned Goods. We reserve the right to make a deduction from the refund for any loss in value of the Goods where they show signs of use, damage, or where packaging is missing or damaged.
7.6 Original delivery charges will only be refunded where the return is due to our error or the Goods are confirmed faulty.
