The Palmyra is genuinely miniature, standing 20cm on a 10cm base and weighing 380g. It should not work at that size, and the reason it does is the base. A distressed dark finish with intricate turned detailing packed into a very short column, which gives it far more visual weight than the dimensions suggest.
This is a lamp for places that have no business holding a lamp. A bathroom shelf, a windowsill behind a sink, a bookcase shelf with limited headroom, a child's bedside, a stack of books on a hall table. It gives a low pool of warm light exactly where an overhead bulb cannot reach.
